GARGANO DRY GIN CL.50 WITH FREE FAN

Gargano Dry Gin is a naturally produced Apulian artisan London dry gin, thanks to the use of botanicals that are mostly hand-picked in the Vico del Gargano area and in the citrus oasis of Rodi Garganico. Conceived by bartender Riccardo Santovito with the collaboration of Distillerie Subalpine and aromatiere Alfredo la Cava, it provides that the 9 botanicals juniper, oregano, mandarin, ireos, zedoaria, marjoram, coriander, laurel and rosemary are first distilled individually, and finally once once the recipe has been assembled with the right doses of each one, we move on to a second distillation. The result will be a fresh and fragrant gin with a balsamic and citrus aftertaste, where all the botanicals combine to give it a strong and decisive character.

Description

Gargano Dry Gin, except for very few elements, is produced with botanicals that grow here, in the Vico area. There are rosemary, oregano, laurel and marjoram, all botanicals from my countryside. Then there is coriander, and there are areos and juniper that come from Tuscany. Finally, there is the zedoaria which is a root originating from Asia.

Gargano Dry Gin is produced with a double distillation: first the botanicals are distilled separately, then we proceed with a further distillation that unites them. In addition to the mandarins that give it citrus notes and a certain freshness, I chose oregano because it is part of my childhood memories, of when I harvested and sold it, bay leaf because it is very important for my country, Vico: during the feast of the patron saint, San Valentino, the whole town is decorated with laurel and oranges. This is because the laurel plants have always protected our citrus groves from the winds of the Mistral and Tramontana, since the citrus groves are exposed to the sea. Rosemary was chosen to give a touch of balsamic, as well as marjoram, which also gives a herbaceous tone. Finally, the zedoaria gives a bit of spiciness and is also a little balsamic. The result is a dry gin, but with a strong character.
