Description
To obtain this Brandy, three different grape varieties are used (Sultanina, Savatiano and Corinthe grape). Once the distillate is obtained, it is left to develop its aromas in Limousin oak barrels for a minimum duration of three years. Muscat grapes (from Samos or Lemnos), essences of rose petals and a secret series of aromatic plants are added to the brandy. Then you put this new mixture back into a barrel for the duration of another year. Before bottling, Metaxa spends many days at a temperature below zero, is filtered and finally bottled. Aging for 5 years in oak barrels. Distilled with discontinuous alembic still.
