VERMOUTH

Carpano Punt-mes Vermouth was born in 1870. It is said that a stockbroker entered the Carpano shop in Turin discussing a stock market price rise of one and a half points and ordered a Carpano Vermouth spiked with half a dose of cinchona. The new Vermouth was an immediate success, and the anecdote inspired the creation of a new product featuring the dialect expression "Punt e Mes," referring to the stock market, on the label.
