After the success of 5yo a couple of years ago, we were curious to try an older version of this unusually smoky Speyside single malt. This time the result is more intense and complex: while the clean character of cereals has remained intact, the fruity hints of pears and apples have been practically replaced by a creamy vanilla, a typical sign of longer ripening. The protagonist, however, is always the peat: imposing, powerful, thick and warm. Gradation 46%

One of the youngest distilleries in Speyside is also a little known gem, and this bottling entirely matured in sherry casks is a perfect example of its very dry, fruity and explosive style. The influence of Olro is unmistakable: the nose is intensely vinous, clean and pungent, absolutely exaggerated, with a curious note of multivitamin complex, yeast and nuts. Gradation 46%
WHISKEY WILSON & MORGAN LINKWOOD 2013-21 "VIRGIN OAK" CL.70 WITH CASE

A sweet and spicy variation on a classic Speyside whiskey, thanks to the unusual choice of aging in virgin oak barrels. The intense malt character and floral aromas of the distillate are preserved despite the very active influence of the barrels. The result tastes of dried fruit, with a buttery body, a marked note of beeswax, a very fruity nose and palate, rich in bananas and raisins. Overall it is a rather dense and sweet whiskey, with a robust presence in the mouth: not heavy, but muscular. Gradation 46%
WHISKY WILSON & MORGAN HOUSE MALT SINGLE ISLAY MALT 2016-20 CL.70
€42.50
(tax incl.)
Out-of-Stock
Young but already fully mature, this peaty Islay whiskey from a secret distillery continues the tradition of our mysterious House Malt. This version is one of the most robust ever, with a heavy and almost thick body and an extremely tarry, ashy and smoky character. As usual, fresh vegetal notes of green bananas, seaweed and licorice root create a lively contrast to the smokiness and creamy sweetness of the malt, and a lightly toasted note of salty peanuts adds to the intriguing profile. WHISKEY PIG'S NOSE CL.70 WITH CASE

Pigs Nose is an exceptionally fine five year old blended whiskey created by Richard Patterson, Scotland's only third generation master blender. The blend contains a high percentage (40%) of malt whiskey, mainly from Speyside, which give the product their characteristic softness; the name derives from the peasant expression "as soft as a pig's nose". A rare version of an ultra-peaty batch from Bunnahabhain, an Islay distillery famous for its usually unrepeatable single malt. What makes this bottling so special is that when they make a peaty spirit, they don't go for half measures. Extremely smoky, ashy, full of maritime notes and a marked medicinal touch, it is a very clean and malty spirit as expected from Bunnahabhain ... but at the same time it packs a touch in terms of pure "peat power". It is also vegetable and herbaceous, with rich notes of black licorice, gentian root. The aftertaste is particularly warm, peppery and persistent, with the smoke reverberating for minutes after each sip. Gradation 48%
