Description
The peculiarity of this pure distillate is the union of Common Juniper berries (Juniperus Communis) from central Italy with Juniper Coccolone berries, a subspecies of the Red Juniper (Juniperus Oxycedrus), present on the southern coasts of Puglia and which unequivocally characterize Gin from Salento.
Finally, on the attentive palate, the scent of a hint of hot pepper distillate emerges which makes the alcoholic drink slightly spicy or better defined pinched, like the bite of a tarantula or taranta, a Mediterranean spider that gave rise to the ancient anthropological phenomenon called Tarantism o Tarantolism typical of Salento, from which the musical genre and the dance called Pizzica Tarantata are born.
