Description

On February 3, 1488, Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias landed in Mossel Bay (formerly Saint Blaize) after being caught in a storm around the Cape, forcing him to resupply while attempting to navigate a sea route from Europe to India. In 1864, the Cape Saint Blaize lighthouse was built, which inspired the design of the hand-polished terracotta bottle. This makes each bottle unique, with subtle differences that make it a bespoke work of art. Cape Saint Blaize creates limited editions (the Ochre editions) at various times throughout the year, distinguished by their number and their ultra-aesthetic pastel colors!

    Cape Saint Blaize N°8 is a limited-edition floral and fruity gin (only 300 bottles produced), made from various local botanicals, including raspberry, rose petals, fig, elderflower, and hibiscus. On the nose, it releases hints of rose and elderflower. On the palate, it is smooth, with fruity notes of raspberry, apricot, and lychee, and spicy vanilla. It finishes with a soft, slightly floral finish. Our Malt Master was inspired by the fine porcelain of China's most important royal families, to create the bottle that holds the longest-lasting expression of the Glenkinchie distillery. Time is the key to the creation of these precious vessels, as it is also for the twenty-seven years of aging, where this single malt reaches regal and lush notes of fresh flowers. On the nose we have fruity perceptions that lead us with the mind to an apple orchard, where we soon approach notes of almond and vanilla, and return at the end to a floral aroma that makes its way through impressions of field grass. A pleasant and velvety texture, its opulence is delicate on the palate and develops with a dry finish, bringing back memories of oak and spicy notes. Gradation 58.3%
