Janneau is the oldest of the great Houses of Armagnac. It is, in fact, was founded by Pierre Etienne Janneau in 1851, the Condom. Here, for generations, the growers of the region bring their wines at the Maison Janneau, which guarantees a distillation scrupulous, followed by a long ageing of the eaux-de-vie, and finally from the marketing.
The distillation of the Armagnac can use both stills and continuous distillation in both pot stills in distillation. Maison Janneau uses eaux-de-vie produced by the two methods, but prefers the use of stills in a batch distillation, which has since 1972. This last method, the first to be originally used in the area, is undoubtedly the most expensive and complex.
