Description

The nose is extremely fruity: take the ripest bananas you can imagine, and you might get the idea. There are ripe peaches and apricots, also candied bergamot and oranges, and a pinch of beeswax. The taste is creamy, slightly buttery, still very fruity: raisins, oranges, acacia honey, but balanced by a light and pleasant acidity which prevents an excess of sweetness. The finish is peppery and spicy, with a hint of Cremona mustard (sweetened fruit with a mustard flavour).

A typically medium-bodied, yet still floral and delicately fruity Speysider, enhanced by a short finish of 14 months in first-fill casks from a traditional Spanish winery, which had been used to mature Oloroso sherry for 60 years. It is a lively whiskey, full of citrus and fruity notes on the nose: the sherry does not immediately translate into a vinous character, but amplifies oranges, apples and pears to the maximum. The citrus and slightly tart touch is accompanied on the palate by a generous helping of sultanas and chestnut honey, achieving a great balance between dryness and a sweeter and creamier side.
