Description

Their story begins in 2015 when they realized that they did not have a good artisan gin produced in their hometown in their bars and so they decided to found Nao Spirits. "Nao", which in Hindi means boat, is meant to be the union of contemporary spirits with a bit of Indian heritage. Gin and India have a strong link that can be traced back to history, in fact the famous Gin Tonic cocktail was created there, by the British colonizers. Anand and Vaibhay began with the search for juniper; for Greater Than they decided to import it, while for their second product, Hapusa, they decided to use the local raw material, Hapusa, a type of Himalayan juniper found after various searches.

The peculiarity of this gin is that it uses exclusively Indian botanicals, starting with juniper berries, which come from a variety of juniper that grows in the Himalayas. Coriander, ginger, turmeric, lemon, cardamom, mango and almond seeds complete the selection of botanicals. A choice that gives the distillate a perfume characterized by notes of oily pine accompanied by a touch of vanilla, mint, angelica root and chocolate, and an immediate and enveloping flavor that opens with notes of coriander and sweet spices, followed by aromas to green leaf for a finish in which notes of cedar and citrus emerge and a long and persistent note of spicy spice.
