Description
The No.1 coffee liqueur in the world, Kahlúa has spread the spirit of Veracruz, its birthplace and home of the coffee beans used to make it, since it was launched 70 years ago.
A pioneer of coffee liqueur, Kahlúa was created in Mexico in 1936. In the early 1960s, Jules Berman, an art collector and entrepreneur, introduced it to the United States. While there is still a mystery surrounding the exact origins of Kahlúa, the flavor is now appreciated throughout the world.
Kahlúa uses 100% Arabica coffee beans grown on the Veracruz highlands, which offer optimal altitude and climatic conditions. The beans are clear with a slight hint of chocolate that defines the unique flavor and aroma of Kahlúa. These coffee beans are lightly roasted to develop a delicate flavor and then briefly ground to preserve their natural softness. The ground coffee is immediately extracted with water. Once filtered, it is then mixed with vanilla, caramel and alcohol from the sugar cane.
